Hi Intel Engineer,

I got an issue in support with Intel GLQM170 solution in USB video device.
Just want to ensure the maximum USB device can be supported for the chipset(CPU with G3900E).
Cause customer only attached with 16 device that the OS show already exceed the maximum (i did remember should be 127 for 100 series?)
Do you have any suggestion for it?

Dell laptop - sleep periodically failing - Intel Management Engine Interface fault

$

Quick Summary: Intel Management Engine Interface v11 (and possibly v10) interferes with sleep mode on Dell 15R laptop, where it periodically will not sleep and requires a disruptive hard boot. Downgrading the driver to v9.5 fixes this very frustrating issue; a fix which is very hard to discover. As yet there is no intel solution and no Windows update intel driver-set which resolves this.

This is to highlight an ongoing issue I had with my Dell Inspiron 15R laptop over the years I have had it.

Various times throughout Win8\8.1\10 it has periodically had massive issues with sleep mode unable to fully sleep the computer (power light remains on and the fan stays low). As many people, I use sleep mode all the time. Sleep mode has now become a necessity for many people, who prefer it over a full boot.

I have tried everything, and I mean everything to fix this:

- update all devicemgr drivers via windows update driver

- update AMD graphics

- update intel discrete graphics

- update intel via the new auto detect driver tool

- tried unchecking allow computer to turn off this device on some drivers (since turned these back to default)

Finally, I found this youtube video:

Solve Windows 10 Shutdown/Sleep Problem - YouTube

and also this forum;

Laptop won't wake up from sleep and won't fully shut down! - Microsoft Community

as you can see in all the comments, many people are frustrated at this issue and very happy to downgrade the Intel Management Engine Interface back to v9.5

I was having issues with the following version of the Intel Management Engine Interface:

ver 11.0.0.1157

date 7.7.15

Win 10 \ 64 bit

Downloaded the downgraded version on the Dell website specific to my laptop:

ver 9.5.23.1766 ,A02 (release 12 Feb 2014)

So far, sleep mode is now functioning perfectly again.

What an absolutely frustrating ordeal. The amount of times I've had to hard-boot my laptop because of this I've lost count of.

Please have someone review this issue, as mentioned earlier the amount of comments and frustration in forum comments is sizable.

Why does DSA ask to update graphics driver on Surface pro 4 when driver install advises device not supported?

$

DSA wants to update Intel AVStream Camera 2500 with a new driver, details below. However, when the driver install process runs (tried twice), the install process advises the driver is not supported on the device. As a result faith in DSA to accurately advise of driver updates reduced and more annoyingly keeps advising there's an update which can't be installed. Thanks for listening.

WIN 7 - Xhci Port-4 not showing pendrive notification and autoplay dialog

$

What could be the reason that my usb port 4 is not showing pen drive notification whereas all other three usb ports straight from xhci hub are showing it. However, the device works fine and pops as a device D: or other.

I tried following

1. Modify asl uefi code but didnt work, thought ACPI topology mapping issue

2. Updated XHC controller driver, but cannot blame driver as notification for other ports are showing up.

3. UsbViewer shows the device connected to the relevant port.

4. There is a separate EHCI controller and root hub.

It works when

1. Connect USB 2/3 hub, both cases pendrive auto play and notification in system tray show up.

2. Could it possible be the hardware design issue ?

Notifications are there in the windows 7 on usb pendrive connection / disconnection on that particular port. What seems that windows internally checking for hot plug notification. Question is

1. What it is that windows 7 checks on usb hp notification to pops that notification ?

2. Could this fix trace down to bios uefi ?

3. Can there be a software ( bios / driver / windows patch ) possible to fix this issue.

Answers appreciated.

Intel RST installation incorrectly sets hard drive media type Windows 8.1 Pro x64

$

Hope someone can help me here.

After a fresh install of Windows 8.1 Pro my media type is correctly set under the analyse and optimise function. This is using the in box drivers of Windows 8.1. When I install the latest RST and update the RAID drivers, the media type changes to SSD which is incorrect. The analyse and optimise buttons are now greyed out and I can no longer defrag the hard drives.

I have taken many steps to try and correct this issue but still no luck. The BIOS is set to UEFI and it correctly identifies the HDD. I have also used the F6 driver installation of the latest RAID driver during the Windows install. Media type is still set to SSD.

Intel RST status correctly states that SATA HDD are connected. So is it a Windows problem?

Very frustrating. Any help would be appreciated.

Surely Im not the only person in the world with this problem.

Kind Regards

I have gone to Intel's site but as a novice user, I'd rather the site automatically detect what updates I should have. Unfortunately, when I try to do this I'm met with this message "The Intel® Driver & Support Assistant (Intel® DSA) is getting a tune up.  We are sorry for the inconvenience. If you need a driver or software, please use Intel Download Center"

When will I be able to use this feature? Here are my computer specs below.

Intel RST problem

Hello, I may have a big RAID 1 problem and need advice.  I wanted to get rid of my RAID setup which is two 2TB drives with 300GB as a RAID 0 array and the remaining as a RAID 1 array.  I did research beforehand and read numerous places that when a RAID 1 array is reset to non-raid disks in the RST boot screen you end up with two identical disks with each having a working copy of the data.  Just what I wanted so I did that.  But when I went back into Windows 10 afterwards Disk Management says the disks need to be Initialized.  Is this correct?  I did not see it mentioned in the posts I read before in my preparation.  I stopped there as I would like to get confirmation that Initializing the disk is the next step.   If not then what should my next step be.  Thank you in advance.

I got a Gigabyte GA-Z170-Gaming K3 Motherboard.

Almost all Intel drivers and that works fine, but!

If i use the Intel AHCI driver for that board instead of the MS variant the whole Computer slows down to 20 %!!!!

Hp 15n098sa Intel Management engine interface Windows 10 1709 error

I have installed a clean Windows 10 Microsoft download ISO 1709 Windows creators disk dated 9/27/2017 64 bit version from the official Microsoft website.

I have let Windows complete a clean install on a new disk GPT partition after removing all partitions.

I have initially not connected to the internet and all the drivers from HP 15-N098sa page but encountered a few problems, besides the intel engine management sp62419.exe version 9.5.2.1489 unit not working. so I have tried old versions of the chipset and graphics driver in many combintations.

Start agin another new installation:

I then re did a clean install again using above Windows ISO deleting all partitions created by Windows 10 on startup and allowed it to install the drivers required and updates please see below with Lan connected.

Another note Windows defender reports the problem and tries to fix it

It then reports it cannot identify the problem.

I have gone into the device manager, deleted the Intel engine management unit installed by Windows version 1105. I then then rebooted and allowed the same driver to be installed by checking for updates.

I then deleted the driver and software again reset windows update to stop installed the Intel Chipset Installation Utility and Driver sp66956.exe version9.4.0.1026 Rev.B and the Intel Management Engine Interface (MEI) Driver sp62419.exe version 9.5.2.1489 and have the same problem. I have also tried Intel Management Engine Interface (MEI) Driver 9.52.1709 and various versions of 11 besides the Windows 10 initial installed one of 11.00.1146 including 11.8.50.3426

CPU and chipset information:

Intel Core i5-4200U (1.6 GHz, 3 MB cache, 2 cores)

Graphics Intel HD Graphics 4600.

Memory 8GB 2  simms

Motherboard passes HP 6.5.0.0 extensive system test no error.

Can anyone please help.

Description:

We try to do MDI single r/w through MSCA(0x0000425c) and MSRWD(0x00004260).

The rule and steps is shown below

04:00.0   [Base address]   + [offset]      [32 bits] [value]

devmem 0x383fff400000+0x0000425c 32 0x501dc501           //Address cycle    PHYAD = 0x00

devmem 0x383fff400000+0x0000425c 32 0x541dc501          //Write operation

Is it correct?

We also try to use the tool of "lanconf64e" doing IEEE Tests, but we still cannot got MDC/MDIO signal.

Then, we upgrade flash to BDXDE_10GBASET_NO_MNG_1.13v02_800006B7.bin.

However, the situation is the same.

Another question is when we use BDXDE_10GBASET_NO_MNG_1.13v02_800006B7.bin, the eth cannot link up.

If we change the image to XXX_BACKPLANE..., it can link up in 1G. But, 10G doesn't work...

Why we can't get MDC/MDIO signal?

In backplane mode, why X557 only link up in 1G?

Could you give us some suggestions?

Thanks

Windows 7 loses randomly drivers after rebooting

Hello,

I have a ThinkPad x60 Tablet and a big problem : during the drivers installation process, when I restart the laptop sometimes it loses drivers and I need to restart it again. I already had the problem with a Toshiba laptop after installing the wrong chipset driver (AMD on Intel), so for me it's a problem related to the chipset driver. However after installing the chipset driver from the lenovo downloads page :

https://thinkpads.com/support/Thinkpad-Drivers/download.lenovo.com/lenovo/content/ddfm/X60t.html (see for the first result in category : chipset and OS : Win 7)

the problem is always present. I also installed the ahci driver from the lenovo downloads page, and because of the problem again, I upgraded to the latest ahci driver version (STOR_Win7_XP_11.2.0.1006) and the problem is still here.

I don't know what I can do, so I'm asking here because maybe someone has the solution...

Thanks

NB : OS is Win 7 x86
