Hi All,
What exactly should be done to initialize southbridge ICH6-M in AHCI mode? (I suppose that's what BIOS does every time before handing control over to OS)

Hi All,

Hope someone can help me here.
After a fresh install of Windows 8.1 Pro my media type is correctly set under the analyse and optimise function. This is using the in box drivers of Windows 8.1. When I install the latest RST and update the RAID drivers, the media type changes to SSD which is incorrect. The analyse and optimise buttons are now greyed out and I can no longer defrag the hard drives.
I have taken many steps to try and correct this issue but still no luck. The BIOS is set to UEFI and it correctly identifies the HDD. I have also used the F6 driver installation of the latest RAID driver during the Windows install. Media type is still set to SSD.
Intel RST status correctly states that SATA HDD are connected. So is it a Windows problem?
Very frustrating. Any help would be appreciated.
Surely Im not the only person in the world with this problem.
Kind Regards

HI is there native support for thunderbolt 3 in the Linux kernel? It is 2017, and Ubuntu and Linux are growing quickly , Intel should have support in latest builds for it .
Please show some love to Ubuntu users Intel! Brings thunderbolt 3 transfer speeds to us.
I have now spent weeks trying to get my existing Windows XP system set to AHCI. I have read numerous how-tos that don't apply to my motherboard/system, followed many dead links and attempted to install numerous drivers. All to no avail. Can anyone here help point me to the correct driver please ? My system details are ;

Hello
i have an intel i7 7700 on a clevo laptop.
i keep getting these errors in the windows log thingy, coming from the intel ioc agent

My drivers are already up to date 10.1.2.85 for intel chipset and 11.7.0.1002 for intel ME
thank you for your help
Our deployment system has been installing Intel network drivers for years using this approach:
Unzip "PROWinxXX ver XX.exe" and then running the appropriate DXSetup.exe (or setupBD for older versions) with the /qr argument.
This is in a way also working for 22.0.1... but after installation the "We invite you to join the Intel Product Improvement Program" popup appears, and deployment halts.
How do I suppress this popup during silent install?
Thanks,
How can I enable raid after my OS installation. I would like to optimize my system with SSD. BIOS sata mode only has ATA and AHCI options, NO RAID. Intel RST doesn't show the acceleration mode probably because raid wasn't enabled in the BIOS.
Thanks
Is there a problem solving with i5 processors on chipset hm70?
The only solution is to get him in sleep and Wake up?
Wie kann ich die Advanced Options im INTEL Extreme Tuning Utility entsperren?
Where can I ask for RoHS Certs? I am looking for the NM10 Chipset for my customer.
Thank you,

Dear Support Community,
after I my Research for locked Intel ME devices, I wasn't successfully.
So I hope for better answers to solve this rare problem.
I operate an Asrock z77 Pro3 with an Intel ME 8 Firmware v8.1.65.1586 Chip.
After testing Bios settings between Raid and AHCI, my Computer stucked after I rollback to normal Settings with AHCI.
So I reflashed my BIOS Version, removed CMOS Battery for a long while, changed CMOS Jumper to factory reset.
Nothing changed.
=> It doesn't show video signal because my internal GPU isn't available and my Pc forcing the usung of an PCe GPU.
=> CPU Cores aren't independently changeable (Bios option isn't shown)
=> CPU Multiplier is locked at max x38, which is the default Torbo Boost Frequency: 3.80 GHz
=> DDR3 RAM is locked too at: 1600MHz (Normal: 1866)
So did anyone know how to normalize intel ME settings or override the setting so defaults?
You you can get an overview about my PC System, with the two text files which I appended.
I thank you for every helpful response.
Regrads
Roban
I need to update the chipset driver on my machine, but each time i try to install the Intel Driver Update Utility i recieve an error stating "IntelProductImprovementProgramInstaller.msi" cannot be located at the following location: C:\ProgramData\Package Cache\{B9FD2F32-B6ED-477A-98A3-380720F1B553}v2.1.28.3\
I've installed, and uninstalled this driver update utilisty many time, without issue.. so this is a bit strange.
I have attached the log, if that helps.
Ty,
Chris.

Any help highly appreciated.

Hi. I need the individual files for the HM175 Chipset. .inf, .sys or .oem files to use with Acronis Universal Restore. The Setup file does not produce them when using 7zip, uniextract, or any other programs I know of. Acronis said I had to come here to get them. Any chance?
The error I get in Acronis is it needs this to continue - PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_A12F8SUBSYS_11DE1462&REV_31
Here is a link to Acronis with what they need.
Thank you.
Hi, Im doing a project for school regarding the process of designing and building computer motherboards, as well as how the parts communicate with one another. Problem is that all the information I need regarding the chip-sets and reference designs are all locked by a NDA which legally I can not sign because I am 16 y/o.
I was wondering if there was anyway I could receive access to this information considering its for educational purposes.
Thanks for your time, Cole

So once I re-installed Windows 7 64 bit professional, I decided to instal chipset intel of course, but I accidently forgot to restart my PC and install audio realtek azalia drivers instead... The mere fact I forgot to restart my PC after installing intel, would that cause some fundomental bugs or overal worse compatability or worse productivity or a few percent worse working capacity, or some other unfortunate outcome that I might discover later?
I really hope I'm just overreacting over absolutely nothing, but I prefer be sure anyway.
Is there a problem solving with i5 processors on chipset hm70?
