Intel Chipset Utility giving output/input lag in CS:GO

$

Dear community,

So after a fresh Windows installation, device manager looks like this: device manager BEFORE intel drivers

And in a game of CS:GO (I bought an intel CPU because this game is quite CPU intensive) everything was pretty smooth.

BUT, after windows updates and the necessary drivers get installed OR if I install the chipset utility (from my motherboard site) manually, the game becomes "delayed", there is a split-second disadvantage - it's like everything you see actually happens much earlier than you see it on your client.

I made a reddit post about this: Post about the Chipset utility and while many just mocked me for something silly("they are just .inf files, blah-blah-blah), I still got a lot of positive feedback from people saying that this really DID help.

I'm not really a hardware expert (and not really competent at all), but I decided to export the registry on another fresh Windows installation to capture all the possible changes to the configuration. And while many people think that the Intel Chipset Utility just creates .inf files for windows so that it looks neat in device manager, I've noticed some other strange changes.

Here are my registries (full registries, about ~200MB each):

RegBeforeIntel.reg - Google Drive

RegAfterIntel.reg - Google Drive

Using WinMerge (better to use 64-bit or else it will crash), to compare the registries (haven't applied any other changes except settings default browser to Chrome)  I've noticed some peculiar differences (which seem to be NOT just information for your OS, but also settings that change the way they run):

1. in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\HARDWARE\DESCRIPTION\System, the "Configuration Data" value is different from the original windows value (don't know what this is).

2. The Chipset utility removes the "Configuration Data" and "Identifier" values in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\HARDWARE\DESCRIPTION\System\MultifunctionAdapter\0\DiskController\0\DiskPeripheral\1
3. In HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\HARDWARE\DESCRIPTION\System\MultifunctionAdapter\1, the Configuration Data value also gets modified

4. In HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\HARDWARE\RESOURCEMAP\Hardware Abstraction Layer\ACPI x64 platform , the ".raw" value is also slightly altered.

And there are a ton of places where the possible configurations are changed (not just values that have names in them and stuff).

Intel, can you please revise the Utility and work on something that will improve gameplay for gamers. We still purchase your products because you surpass your rival in the gaming niche, and I would really like you to look into it. This is not placebo, you can try playing CS:GO (preferably deathmatch, so you can notice the changes quicker) with and WITHOUT the
1) 200 Series Chipset Family PMC - A2A1
2) 200 Series Chipset Family SMBUS - A2A3
3) 200 Series Chipset Family Thermal Subsystem - A2B1
4) Intel(R) Xeon(R) E3 - 1200/1500 v5/6th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) Gaussian Mixture Model - 1911

5)Intel Management Engine interface

There is a difference!

I've tried changing:
Motherboards,

PSUs,
Ram modules,
GPUs AND
Hard drives (swapped to an SSD)

and the problem still persisted.

Artem

USB driver downloads

Hi, I'm running Windows 8.1 on a Toshiba laptop and it is not reading the following 3 USB drivers properly (screenshot below). I need to reinstall them.

Intel 7 Series/C216 Chipset Family USB Enhanced Host Controller - 1E2D

Intel 7 Series/C216 Chipset Family USB Enhanced Host Controller - 1E26

Intel USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller - 0100 (Microsoft)

I only see drivers on Intel.com for Windows 7:

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/21129/USB-3-0-Driver-Intel-USB-3-0-eXtensible-Host-Controller-Driver-for-Intel-7-Series-C216-Chipset-Family?product=65855

Can I install this driver on my Windows 8.1 system?

Or do I need to install one of these general chipset drivers for Windows 8.1?

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/27952/Intel-Server-Chipset-Driver-for-Windows-

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/20775/Intel-Chipset-Device-Software-INF-Update-Utility-?product=46644

The Only relevant driver available from my OEM, Toshiba, is a Chipset Utility. They don't have any of the individual USB drivers.

Can anyone tell me where to download the proper drivers?

Thanks

IRST with SSD new

Current operating system disk size is 1TB, spinner with 32GB hard drive. MSATA cache is managed with Intel Rapid Store Technology, (IRST).

I would use Paragon "Move OS to SSD" to put my OS drive on the new SSD. I've done this before on previous systems and it's pretty much no intellectual.

After "scrolling" I intend to remove both the 1TB spinner drive and the MSATA storage drive.

My question is how to handle IRST software. Should I leave it alone, disable it just before the physical exchange or uninstall it completely?

Thanks in advance for the suggestions.

Intel Rapid Storage Technology - How do I revert?

$

I can give as much device info as needed upon request. I'm not very good with technology or know much about it.

As the question states, how do I revert whatever I did to create an Array/Volume?

My current problem with the fact that I even created a Volume in the first place is that I can no longer visibly or physically access (to my knowledge) my D: Drive, which had 1TB spare space.

I can now only visibly and physically access my C: Drive, which is much smaller at a total of 128GB give or take.

This is excruciatingly annoying as I had files on my D: Drive, and applications which want to access it but can no longer - which, by the way, prompts me to redirect a new path so said applications can start, but as I said earlier, I cannot find the files as my D: Drive can no longer be found by me and my knowledge of my new laptop.

IF, I am given a way to find and access the files I had on my D: Drive, I will no longer need to look to or revert whatever I did to remove the Array/Volume which contains both my disk drives (C: with 128GB and D: with 1TB but only shows my C: anywhere I look.) as then I will be content with being able to access those files.

Also, everywhere I've looked online so far that is related to IRST seems to be either outdated or does not match my version of the software (which to my knowledge is the newest as I had acquired this laptop two days ago as a prize.)

Please, ask me for screenshots of anything related and I will supply immediately as my eyes will likely be on this thread until I sleep (in about 6 hours from the posting of this thread) and later when I wake up due to how frustrating this is to me.

X48 and 16 GB RAM (DDR2)

I have an old DFI board that uses the Intel x48 express chip-set.

I have come across some old posts claiming that some of these boards with x48

can actually run 16 GB (DDR3) ram.

x48 and LGA775 *does* support 16GB of RAM - Overclock.net - An Overclocking Community

https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/404351-x48-rampage-extreme-ram-help/

Nice upgrade for X48 system - Hardware Canucks

Is this the case for the dd2 supported ram of this chip-set?
I have not been able to get is verified.

I still use this old board and bumping up the ram (second hand purchase)

would be a nice.

Officially on the Intel dx48 ocumentation I have seen it is written max supported ram 8 GB.

H81 series 8 chipset JTAG

Hi to everyone I'm new to this community.

I don't know which is the best thread to insert this question, I'm apologize for that.

I'm working on a faulty mobo (H81M-DGS R2.0 AsRock) which mounts a H81 SR177 chipset. I want to know if it is working or not.

So, I'm looking for:

1) BSDL file (jtag boundary scan) or a way to generate the right one

2) pins schema of the top side of the chipset (see attached photo) for in circuit test and pins soldering verification.

3) Any documentation useful for that since datasheet does not help for that.

Can anyone help me?

Thanks a lot in advance

Intel chipset driver installer not working.

I just finished building a new pc. When I booted and set up Windows 10, however, I encountered two problems (which I hope are related). My keyboard (a Realforce 87u) runs into a driver error when I plug it in, and in my Device manager, PCI device and SM bus drivers aren't working. I tried using the Chipset Driver Installer as instructed, but the progress bar gets 9/10ths of the way to completion and stops. What should I do?

Intel Chipset Driver Failed Install

I'm using a Dell Laptop: XPS15 L521X on Windows 8.1 64bit

I was running a program to detect out of date drivers to find which one i needed for this and it stated i needed driver version 9.3.0.1030. Which this one I've downloaded isn't. This one is 9.4.0.1027. It mentions it's for Desktops only but i read on another post that it's meant to be compatible anyway.

The Fail itself is when the install is run it states an Error of: "File Copying Was Not Successful. Setup Will Exit." The file it's trying to copy over is CSVer.dll.

Currently instead i have a generic one due to a Windows 10 upgrade that failed and i had to force windows 8.1 back onto my system. This is my current driver for it: 6.3.9600.19026 from 2006

Just had a quick look on dell and they have a similar driver but with a single digit less version: 9.4.0.1026 (Weirdly is 1017 When file is saved). Ran it and the process was the same but with the exact same result. Fail! Rather frustrating.

I install it as Administrator (So nip that basic in the bud).

On another post it discusses possibly having the registry key showing the wrong thing and to check the Infinst inside the registry. For me, apart from having the Infinst folder all i have is: (Default) - REG_SZ - (Value Not Set)

Screenshot (38).png

Now i'm pretty sure it's meant to show a fair bit more than that. It's meant to show the driver version for one.

hmm... my USB3.0 eXtensible Host Controller - 100 (Microsoft), says the driver 6.3.9600.19026 is from 2018. Which doesn't make sense.

Windows 10 and Intel Utility reading 200 series chipset

$

I recently did a fresh install of Windows 10 (1803) on a brand new custom built PC.  My motherboard is a Z370 chipset but Windows 10 installed drivers for the 200 series chipset.  When I use the Intel Driver Update Utility it reads the board as a Z370 but the chipset installed is a 200 series.  I installed the latest drivers from Intel for 300 series chipsets but that did not correct the problem.  In the Windows device manager a 200 chipset is listed.  Any ideas on how to fix this?  Do I need to uninstall certain things in the device manager or is this normal for everyone?  Thanks to all that respond.

After degraded volume in RAID1 I cannot boot from starting creating of new volume

Hi,

I had a degraded volume of RAID 1 configuration. I tried to create a new volume in Intel Rapid Tech Software of Win 7 but it never got concluded after three days (1 TB disk).

So stupidily I tried using the Intel Raid CTRL+I program at start-up by deleting the volume and starting building a new one. I beleive this had the Win 7 system on it (but so also the other volume).

After pressing start building the volume I only receiver the error message "cannot boot". No system on disk.

How can I do to get back to the disk with Win 7 on it so I can boot ?

Best wishes,

Kari Gustafsson

Intel 7/C216 Chipset USB 3.0 not working right (not recognizing memory stick, external USB 3.0 drives)

$

hi folks,

I have a Dell M6700 Workstation running Windows 7 Pro 64bit, with the 1.0.10.255 USB 3.0 driver last updated on 2/3/2014 and it seems the USB 3.0 ports are not recognizing some USB 3.0 devices (Sandisk Glider 3.0 memory stick)  saying  "one of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned and windows does not recognize it".   I've uninstalled the driver and installed it repeatedly, sometimes in works with the Sandisk Glider, but most times it does not.  Likewise, I seem to have same issues with some external USB 3.0 Seagate and WD drives, sometimes being recognized, sometimes not, sometimes working at 2.0 speeds.

Is there any way to replace the *physical* USB 3.0 port, or is it tightly integrated with the i7/C216 chipset motherboard?

Is this a physical USB issue, a motherboard issue, a Sandisk Glider 3.0 issue?     It seems the Sandisk Glider and all external 3.0 storage drives work fine on more modern laptops that I have so I believe the memory stick and USB storage devices can be safely excluded from the issue.

Likewise, I have the same "does not recognize" message coming up through my trusty old Dell docking station, in that I cannot connect to the Sandisk Glider 3.0 or storage drives, none at all, or in the best case scenario, only at USB 2.0 speeds.

Are there any other options other than replacing this amazing laptop which has been serving me very well for some 4+ years now?  (I was hoping to buy an external device say maybe the eSTATA to USB 3.0 or so connector, to bypass things, but not sure what physical combination there is, with this older motherboard, to achieve USB 3.0 speeds (vs the 2.0 speeds of some 20mb/sec)

many thanks,

Cosmin

100 Series /C230 chipset compatibility issues with Windows 7?

Hi,

Ive stared experimenting a problem when I first bought a hdmi to usb 3 video capture card (magewell dongle) and it dropped frames.

I have a really fast pc so I thought it was bad luck and ask for a change.

The second unit also had the same issue, so Ive reached magewell support and they told me their technician suspect there is some compatibility issues between Win7 and my Chipset 100 / C230.

I would like to know if there is actually a known compatibility issue between Win7 and C230 that may cause a video card using 3.0 ports present this kind of malfunction, and if it is, if there is something I can do to fix it, like update bios or something else

Ive struggling with this for more than 16 months and could not solve it yet.

I would appreciate any help on this.

Really thanks,

JC

Hey!

I am having trouble with my USB ports. Quite randomly my mouse and keyboard (Old G500 mouse and G15 keyboard) just stops working, at the same time. Moving them to another USB 2.0 port wont help. They might have a few lights flashing, but they dont work. Moving them to the USB 3.0 ports makes them work sometimes, but they lags a few times every minut or so... They only way to solve this is to restart the computer, but after some time (15 mins to a few hours) it starts again.

I tried uninstall the USB roots, and let windows install them again, but no luck.

So, now I want to try reinstall the drivers manually for my Intel (R) 6 series/C200 Chipset Family USB Enhanced Host Controller - 1C2D and 1C26 (Correct, I don't really know alot about what it is, but searching the net I get the advice I should upgrade to newest drivers.)

The current drivers are 10.1.1.38 from 2016... Windows wont update them, and when running the Intel® System Support Utility for Windows I only get the  message that nothing needs to be updated.

My specs:

Windows 10, 64bit

CPU: Intel Core i5 2500K @ 3.30GHZ (4 cores)

RAM: 24 gigs

Motherboard: Gigabyte Technology Co. Ltd. Z68AP-D3 (Socket 1155)

Graphics: Nvidia Geforce GTX 1060 3 GB

Thanks!

I have problems installing this irritating driver; I tried to install it from several time however, I am unable to install it.

By the way, my screen is heavily flickering and I don't know why since I have never dropped my laptop or anything like that, so I think it might has something to do with this chipset (I am not a computer genius..just guessing) .
