How to determine the total endpoints your motherboard can handle

$

I understand the number of devices that can be connected to the PC depends on the actual endpoints available (devices can have multiple endpoints) and that the total endpoints is a hardware limitation. How can I determine the total endpoints my motherboard can handle ? Forums say the 8th generation motherboard can handle 96 endpoints, how do they get that exact number ?

USB Audio drop outs when mouse display pointer trails disabled (which is default)

It's really weired but true - and I'm not alone.

When I listen e.g. to

https://soundcloud.com/pierreghiringhelli/blondie-heart-of-glass-oliver

and moving the mouse around, hover links, etc. I have audio drop outs and crackles on my professional external USB 3.0 Apollo Twin USB (not on the on-board Audio).

Although I've tried all other things (power management, etc.) nothing helped to avoid the problem.

I've searched around and found this very interesting problem - near the same hardware as I'm using:

https://superuser.com/questions/1137033/usb-lag-when-mouse-cursor-changes

I've enabled Mouse Properties / Pointer Options / Display Pointer Trails (long) (which I normally don't want of course) on the MS default mouse driver ...

AND REALLY: NO AUDIO DROP OUTS ANYMORE !!! This is really weired !!!

I'm reporting this on Intel Chipset (hopefully correct with USB) because the other user said it's happen with Intel USB and he is using an i7-6900K which has no graphics processor built-in.

My System Info:

- OS: Windows 10 Pro, 64bit, Version 1607, 14393.1198

- Motherboard: Asus Maximus IX Hero (latest BIOS 0906)

- CPU: Intel i7-7700, 3.6 GHz

- Mouse: Wireless Logitech Performance Mouse

  (MS default mouse driver 10.0.14393.0)

- Keyboard: Wireless Logitech Keyboard K800

(mouse+keyboard connected on one USB 2.0 front on Chieftec Dragon)

- External Sound: Apollo Twin USB 3.0 (Driver 9.1 & 9.2)

(connected on one back USB 3.0 on Asus MB)

- Intel Graphics 630 (Driver 21.20.16.4627)

As the other user on superuser.com wrote:

"I can’t really comprehend why this happening, how could such “cosmetic” option affect all the USB devices in the system? I’ve set the trail distance to be as short, as possible, but it’s still noticeable and quite distracting, so I’m looking for a way to fix the issue without enabling the trails."

I don't noticed other USB devices problems until yet and I've to try the "short" setting with "Display Pointer Trails" for the next days.

Personally I think it's a "deeper" problem and top level support of Intel and Microsoft and maybe Asus could identify the problem together?

I'm ready and open for tests and more required info of course.

I want to run a certain program but it requires me to update my windows chipset but the intel updater will say something in the lines of "unexpected error...", rebooting does not help.

about intel chipset software Incorrect drivers date

There has been feedback that the drive date is incorrect. But the problem is not resolved, and the demeanor of the demotion, from 1970-1-1 to the present 1968-7-18(version 10.1.1.44 & 10.1.2.86), you have their own reasons, then you can explain, what are not saying, but also so self-willed, engage in what? I can only say: f-u-c-k!!!!

board with intel HM70 turns off after 30 minutes with core i5 3210M, what can I do? downgrade de processor or there is other way to use tha processor...

is not suspension or energy or temperature, is not temperature or ram or video ram

With windows-10 and Z77 Chipset which AHCI driver should I use?

On Windows10 I have 4 alternative AHCI drivers I could use, which is the best option:

1. I use microsoft AHCI driver, which work not correct with Hotplug

2. I use 13.1.0.1058 this is the latest with native Z77 support, but this uses APM which makes my hdd standby

3. I use 12.9.0.1001 this is the latest without APM

4. I use the latest 14.8.0.1042 8-series AHCI, which is running but not engineered for my Z77

And the question is still: Why does Intel not support a driver for my chipset which supports Windows-10? My computer is not as old for an upgrade!!!

Driver Intel RST version 15.5.0.1051 (ultima version)

Muchas gracias!

Atentos saludos.

Why was ISH removed from INF?

I note on the readme for Chipset 10.1.1.42 that

Features Added in Build 10.1.1.34

ID Description

1 Removed Integrated Sensor Hub (ISH) devices for all platforms.

All very well unless you have a mobile chipset with an 8086:A135 "Intel(r) Integrated Sensor Solution" in it.

Why was it removed? Is it really that dangerous?

Windows 10 LTSB then goes out and without asking or telling anyone, downloads the mysterious 3.0.41.3260 driver that cannot be found on Intel's own site. Where can I find this driver on intel's own site? What magical name do I need to use to find this Gruffalo?

Likewise, the option do download older versions like 10.1.1.32 which does indeed have this listed, is absent.

Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family (Microsoft Corporation - WDDM 1.1) - Need help to update

$

Hi, I'm having trouble with my poker software crashing so their support told me to download the intel driver update utility as my graphics card may need updating.

My Card name is: Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family (Microsoft Corporation - WDDM 1.1) that I need to update.

I used the driver update utility, it says to install Intel chip device software (INF update utility - EXE only) version 10.1.1.14 date 2/14/2016.(I have version 10.0.14393 installed)

After downloading, every time I click install it does it for a while then I get "Unknown error" every time how can I fix this?

I'm running on Win 10 now,32 bit operating system x64-based processor, I was 7 originally but took the free upgrade.

Do I even need to do this? When I go manually to my device driver and search for updates it says i have the latest version installed?

I'm a complete technophobe and have so far wasted over 2 hours of a Friday night trying to sort this so any help would be appreciated!

I've tried finding a way to directly email intel customer support with this query and my DX Diagnostic reporting and also the intel driver update

crash logs but can't find a way to contact them this way.I've attached my system report and the crash logs in case this helps answer my query.

Thanks

Chipset drivers on different operating systems

My current hardware setup is DZ77GA-70K board and I7-2600K cpu.

My question is: when downloading the chipset drivers from download center, the available drivers are for windows vista, 7, and 8.1.

I recently installed windows 10 onto my current hardware setup but did not install any chipset drivers. I did not install because i have always been told that i cannot use chipset drivers made for older versions of operating system will not work on any other (newer) versions ???

Is this true ???

Or, can i use the latest chipset driver available from download center that is offered for vista,7 and 8.1 on my version of windows 10 ????

Why does this chipset driver ask me to restart my computer when I first turn it on every day?

     Hello

I have a Dell XPS 8900 computer. I recently had to reinstall the operating system. As I am not very experienced with how all the drivers work I used the intel driver utility to scan my system and install the correct drivers. After installing the package every time I start the computer I receive a message that the computer needs to be restarted in order for this device to be used. I have attached two snapshots of the driver and the error message. Do I even need this driver and can I just disable it?

Intel Management Engine fails to update

I have a Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga 14. Lenovo supplies a tool for keeping the laptop up to date, which is called "System Update 5". This tool indicates there's an update for "Intel Management Engine 11.0 Firmware -7 [32,64]/8.1/10 [64]".

When downloading and installing the update using the Lenovo tool, I get the following error message: "error 8743 Unknown or unsupported platform" (screenshot: http://imgur.com/a/wvcX8).

I've installed the Intel driver update manager (https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/detect.html?iid=dc_iduu). This indicates no drivers need to be updated.

What should I do?

I googled the error message but am unable to understand the complex discussions I found for it, nor any good pointers how to get Intel Management Engine to update.
