Where are the H370 Chipset Drivers?

$

Just got myself a ASRock H370M-ITX/ac and installed Windows Server 2016 on it.

The current Chipset drivers available from Intel (10.1.1.42) won't install giving an "Unknown error".

I've attached the logs.

Expand for RAID 10 ICH10R

Use Super8icro X8SIE with BIOS 1.0c. There are currently 4x 1TB disks configured in RAID 10. Find out how to expand it.

Currently disks are set up as an MBR, if I switch to GPT, can the Intel controller read the RAID configuration?

If replace, I replace 1TB disk drive with 4TB drive and then expand the possible? Or am I considering rebuilding the entire RAID / data migration?

Intel series 200 and 300? Chipset issues.

For some reason under device manager there are both 200 and 300 series intel chipsets. Before I installed the 300 series drivers from dell's website, there was only 200 series chipsets but everything was working fine with no errors before and after. Also when I go into properties all of the 200 series devices say that they are working fine but also say that there are no drivers installed. What the heck is going on?

Specs:

Computer Model: Dell Inspiron 5680

Motherboard Chipset: Intel Z370

CPU: Intel Core I7-8700

OS: Fresh installed(Not oem) Windows 10 Home 64-bit

UPDATE: I went to the one 300 series driver that was installed from the dell website and clicked update driver to see what would happen. It updated it and now the LPC controller is a 200 series driver. What the heck!? I also clicked that for the other ones but it said that you already have the best drivers installed. I checked windows update too but there was no driver updates.

Intel Z170 chipset AHCI HDD issue

Good day!

I have Asus Z170-A motherboard (BIOS is the latest) with Intel(R) 100 Series/C230 Chipset Family SATA AHCI Controller.

I use Windows 8.1 Pro. I also have the latest Intel RST driver installed (15.9.0.1015).

I have two internal HDDs (the former is SSD with OS installed, and the latter is WD 2Tb HDD) connected as SATA (no RAID) and one external USB 3.0 HDD. In power settings I have 15 minutes timeout before HDD spindown (it works).

The issue is: when I put my computer to sleep mode (S3) the second HDD spins up, and during its recalibration the PC actually enters sleep mode and turns off HDD power (which results in a click sound from HDD). External USB HDD doesn't spin up.

The problem started occurring after installing Intel RST driver (there was no issue with default Microsoft driver, PC entered sleep almost instantly after clicking "Sleep").

And my question is: how can I prevent the HDD from spinning up when I put the computer to sleep without giving up using Intel drivers?

HDD click (excessive load-unload cycles) Part 2 - IntelRST AHCI/RAID - Windows 10 1803

$

Hello Intel. I think you know the older thread -> HDD click (excessive load-unload cycles) who many have problems with their HDDs because they are clicking every 2 minutes in AHCI or RAID mode.

The problem is... first ! Since

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\iaStorA\Parameters\Device]

"EnableAPM"=dword:00000000

Another workaround who worked for some was to change the SATA Cable to another SATA port...

My System ->

Gigabyte Z77-DS3H Rev 1.1 -> Newest Bios - F11A
Newest IntelRST Driver 16.0.2.1086

I5-3570K + 16GB RAM
2x Samsung HD103SJ (Samsung Spinpoint F3) working in RAID0 Mode on Firmware 1AJ100E5 - S.M.A.R.T values are all OK
1x Samsung 850 SSD EVO 250GB -> Only Windows 10 System partition

After a fresh installation with WIndows 10 the HDDs start clicking every 2 minutes -> Winamp forces the clicking also, everytime when choosing a new Song.

Its like the HDDs are shutting down and the heads are parking what makes the click noise.  After clicking a song the HDDs are starting again and it clicks exactly like when turning on the PC - This repeats again and again in a loop.

As i said i used the REG file and Installed the newest RST drivers  everytime after reinstall WIndows and it worked fine..

So after upgrading Windows 10 to the new 1803 Spring version via the normal Windows Update process i had no issues with the clicking HDDs after the update....

BUT I also loaded the new WIndows 10 - 1803 ISO DVD and started a fresh installation...

NOW after a clean installation with the standard drivers on board from you shipped with the 1803 Win version. And also after installing the newest RST drivers 16.0.2.1086 from your site and my previously worked REG file i cant get rid of the annoying HDD click sound and spinning combination. This means your driver is slowly destroying my HDDs !!! And the workaround for the 5 year old unsolved problem is not working anymore...

Again a Working workaround for fresh WIndows 10 1803 installation and clicking HDDs.

After some researching i found a working workaround solution. Or better said... I found out why the REG file isnt working anyore..It seems your New drivers have different/changed/new REG entries/folders.

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\iaStorAC\Parameters\Device]

"EnableAPM"=dword:00000000

The old REG entry was in iaStoreA/Parameters/Devices/ "EnableAPM"=dword:00000000 <- Since WIndows 10 1803 fresh installation not working anymore.

The new Reg entry in iaStoreAC/Parameters/Devices/"EnableAPM"=dword:00000000 <- Working again for WIn10 1803

I hope that this information can help anyone who has the same issue. And i hope that you (Intel) maybe take another look at this annoying very old HDD destroying problem.

kind regards

If more information is needed i will try to help.I also add the REG files here to the thread.

Skylake U or 100 chipset series drivers

My system:

Asus K501UX laptop (the motherboard has the same name), i5-6200U 2.30GHz, Hitachi HGST SATA hard drive.

I'm really struggling to find the right chipset drivers from the Intel download center web page.

The first problem is that the main page lists anything but the laptops so I have to do a Google search to get into what seems like what I need but still not enough information.

There is confusion regarding the chipset name because Asus labels it Skylake U premium or 100 series chipset, but then on the Intel download page there is a totally different description.

So could anyone please explain why:

  • On the main download page there is NO laptop drivers option.
  • What are the right chipset drivers for this laptop?

Please don't suggest to go to Asus download page because firstly the drivers are old and secondly I think they are just an update but not the full driver.

Thanks in advance for help.

Why does DSA ask to update graphics driver on Surface pro 4 when driver install advises device not supported?

DSA wants to update Intel AVStream Camera 2500 with a new driver, details below. However, when the driver install process runs (tried twice), the install process advises the driver is not supported on the device. As a result faith in DSA to accurately advise of driver updates reduced and more annoyingly keeps advising there's an update which can't be installed. Thanks for listening.

When I run Dell System Detect to detect needed drivers I have installed all that it can see that I need.  However, when I try to do certain (but not all) tasks I get a "not connected to network" error with a message that I need a driver for PCI\Ven_8086&Dev_15E3&SUBSYS_07A11028&Rev_00.  Anyone know where I can get 'said' driver?

Thank you.

Intel Rapid Storage, hidden partition and RAID setting

My system: Asus K501UX, laptop Windows 10 Pro 64bit, Series 100 chipset Skylake-U.

Excuse me if I misunderstand this issue, I reinstalled Windows and the system automatically created a hidden partition of 499MB which looks like a designated drive to use for a RAID configuration.

The Bios automatically set the RAID option, also it was like that prior of the OS installation and when restoring it still sets the RAID option.

The Asus drivers download page (for this specific laptop) has this Intel Rapid Storage driver so what should I do now?

Should I install the drivers? And if not, what is the purpose for the hidden partition, is something Windows 10 needs?

Thanks in advance for help.

I use DriverDoc, and it tells me that my "Interl(R) 7 Series/C216 Chipset Family USB Enhanced Host Controller - 1E26 and 1E2D" is out of date. My current version is Intel 9.3.0.1011, but DriverDoc shows that the new version is 9.3.0.1028. Where may I download Version 9.3.0.1028? Thank you.

P.S. My computer (OS is Windows 7) is encountering Usbser.sys crashes, so I am trying to update the drivers.

Hi Support,

I have a backup server (build -ACER Altos G540 X64-based PC) which is currently has Microsoft Windows server 2008 Standard installed as the OS. Recently  I checked device manager for driver status and found out that drivers for Base system device listed under other devicesare not installed (The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)). I have also attached screen shots of error and Hardware Ids for your reference. So my question is would this be a potential problem for the functionality of my server and if I want to re-install it what is the procedure?

Many Thanks & regards,

Gayan
