I have to admit I am a little shocked by this....
I have a machine where both RAID1 disks were reset to NON-RAID.
- In CTRL-I when I try and re-create the RAID mirror it tells me I will lose all data.
- I CAN create a mirror IF I can get into Windows and use the Intel RST GUI?
A million years ago when we installed Promise controllers, this was second nature. Create the volume in the Bios and reboot. Problem solved. When our service manager told me this, I made him prove it. He did. After creating the volume in CTRL-I the machine would no longer boot and the data is gone.
Somehow after 5 or 6 years of using Intel Matrix / RST devices I just now notice this?
Thoughts?
