Is FDI in chipset a special feature or only way to acces GPU integrated in processor.

Hi,

I have doubt in understanding FDI within chipset.

If a motherboard as a chipset with FDI, will the on board graphics work with CPU without integrated GPU.

Will the motherboard with  chipset including  FDI  have IGP onboard ????
