Fresh reinstall of the Intel Rapid Storage Technology software on Windows 7

Hi community.

How can IreinstallIntel Rapid Storage Technology software (version 12.8.0.1016) for Windows 7 x64?

The full story: Something has gone terribly wrong with the update from a previous version. My computer freezes while the update process was active, I had to turn the computer off and had to copy the drivers manually from another computer to the HDD of the computer. Now I can boot the PC again (works fine, no problems or bluescreens), but I can't find the Intel RST software on the system. The program folder still exists (C:\Program Files\Intel\Intel(R) Rapid Storage Technology).

I want touninstall the broken version but can't find it in the windows uninstall list. I think I need to manually remove the program from the system, but I don't know how to do that correctly with this system-critical software... I downloaded the program and when I just tried to reinstall it does not work. I don't have a RAID now, but I want to create a RAID 1 soon - so I really need this software.
