I used to think elevated UAC was a simple thing, but I just ran into a program that claims the elevation is not working. It's the Intel ChipUtil for identifying chipsets.

I am launching it with a right click and RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR option.
WIndows (7 Pro) seems to go through the elevation process normally.
with a dimmed deskstop and a "Do you want to allow..." prompt to which I respond YES.
