I have an eSATA drive that cannot be used with Windows 8. The drive is detected by the computer BIOS, but not by Windows. If I use the in-Box sata driver (storahci.sys) the drive can be seen in Device Manager as "other Device" but is unusable. If I use the latest Intel driver, 11.6, it disapppears completely from Device Manager. It is however, detected by the Intel Rapid Storage Technology Application, but is listed as unknown and unusable. If I disconnect it, that is detected by the IRST Application. The drive Works fine in Windows 7. I have also tried several different eSATA cables and other comuters running Windows 8. No dice. Any ideas?
