I have a Dell laptop that came with intel RST pre-installed. I know almost nothing about the product. I recently noticed that RST service was not running, and I was getting error messages regarding the product. I am trying to decide whether I should try to fix the problem, or if it makes more sense to just uninstall the application. From what I have read, it seems RST enhances performance by caching frequently used content from my HDD. I do not have an SDD, and have only a single HDD. I have read that RST can also provide backup in case of disk failure. Where does RST store the cached data? Does Rapid Storage Technology service help performance on a system such as mine?
Thanks.
