There have been many problems happening to the computer I have been using, and I don't seem to be really fixing it. So I am reaching out for help.
It is not my computer, so it is of the utmost importance I am able to fix this.
Before the problem, I was able to access 2 drives. The SSD with the OS installed, and the 4 HDD's configured as a single RAID drive. After a crash, I was not able to access the second one, and so I began troubleshooting.
---
The problem began once a crash during the system's boot up had occurred. The apparent problem was overheating, and so that was fixed. However after this was fixed, during another boot up, I saw that when the Intel RST information was displayed, the RAID volume status showed: "Failed" and that one of the drives had "Incompatible" under 'Type/Status'. I had searched online for solutions to this problem, and was at a loss, as this sort of problem was outside my knowledge, not to mention I was not the one who created the raid drive. Unfortunately, I cannot contact the one who did. So I have to solve the problem somehow.
From what I had gathered, updating the Intel RST drivers were what I saw as perhaps an answer. However, when I attempted this, and did the restart, the Windows OS would no longer boot. Not even in safe mode. And the Automatic Repair did not help at all. It was clear that I had to remove whatever it was that I had recently installed so that I could reach the OS again. And so through the Command Prompt I was able to remove it (along with various of settings).
---
Now however, when the raid information appears during bootup, under Raid Volume, I get "None defined" and the fourth drive still "Incompatible"
What is it that I must do?
Info:
Motherboard: EVGA Classified SR-2
Intel RST Option ROM version: 10.1.0.1008
Also on Ctrl+I I saw that many online had an option for "Recovery Volume Options". Which seems like something I could need, but unfortunately the option is not present in my configuration.
And on the BIOS settings when hitting Ctrl+M, there is nothing I could do or change.
