Can I use ctrl-i to set up RAID

I am trying to set up a RAID 1 array on my Dell XPS8900 but IRST will not let me do it. I have turned off secure boot and now get the CTRL-I splash screen on boot up and this offers the function of creating a RAID 1 array with the two disks I want to use.  1) Does this option destroy the data on both drives or can you (as in IRST) save the data on one drive, 2) Do I still need to use IRST once the PC boots to setup the RAID array, 3) If I do this and then turn secure boot back on will the RAID array persist.

Thanks for your help

Peter
