RSTe "SATA available disk: Removed" then immediately Detected

Hi,

I'm writing about a Lenovo TS140 with an on-board RAID controller. It was installed 11/2013. The Programs list shows RSTe version 3.8.0.1106 and the "Intel C600+/C220+ series chipset SATA RAID controller" driver shows the same version. A Microsoft Storage Spaces Controller is also listed under Devices > Storage Controllers. There are three physical spinning disks, two set up as RAID 1 (ports 0 and 1) and one stand-alone (port 2). The RAID volume is primary storage with the stand-alone used as an internal backup drive.

This happened two months ago and again today. The stand-alone drive is removed and re-detected within one second:

1:03:59 PM IAStorDataMgrSvc:  SATA available disk: Removed.

1:03:59 PM IAStorDataMgrSvc:  SATA disk on Controller 0, Port 2: Detected.

1:04:04 PM IAStorDataMgrSvc:  SATA available disk: Removed.

1:04:04 PM IAStorDataMgrSvc:  SATA disk on Controller 0, Port 2: Detected.

These disconnects happened during a Windows Server backup, which ran from 1:00:00 PM to 1:05:00 PM and completed successfully.

Everything seems to be running fine, but the fact that this has happened twice this year worries me. What causes this? Should I ignore it?

Thanks,
