Accessing GPIO on Intel Q170 mainboards

Hello,

We are currently using a Supermicro X11SSV-Q (featuring the Intel Q170 chipset) and trying to read/write the on-board GPIO pins under Windows 8.

After installing the respective driver package available with the mainboard, the "Intel(R) Serial IO GPIO Host Controller - INT345D" appeared in the windows device manager.

The host controller is based on the driver "iaLPSS2_GPIO2.sys".

Is there any advice/documentation/API available about how to access/use this driver?
