How can I remove SSD from Intel RSTe controller physical drive list?

I am working on a project in which we have 1 SSD and 2 HDD ports, but we don't want to support SSD in a RAID array with the HDD's. How can I remove SSD from the Intel RSTe controller physical drive list, without physically removing the SSD from the system?

In a semi-related question, how can I remove spare-disk support from the Intel RSTe controller?
