Dell Precision T3500 (built in 2012)
Intel X58 motherboard w/ICH10R southbridge
Non RAID
Window 10 Pro upgraded from Windows 7 Pro
Intel Rapid Storage Technology is using 30% of my cpu continuously.
I see from other sources that Win 10's RST setup is not possible with my motherboard.
When I go to roll back to RST 9.6, (which might work better with my motherboard) it appears that I need a floppy disk. I don't have a floppy drive.
How can I just uninstall RST?
The instructions on the Web don't extend to Win 10.
For Win 8.1 and previous, the instructions call for uninstalling the driver in Device Manager by first double-clicking IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers. In Win 10, there is no "IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers" heading.
Does anybody know what heading has taken the place of "IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers" in Win 10 Device manager?
THanks for any help.
