I will leave the long title and just give a bit of info.
Asus, like many motherboard manufacturers tend to keep users in the dark, fearing that many will create more problems for tech support; the problem being by living with that fear is that board makers don't provide the best drivers and software to keep the product running not just well, but at its very best.
I own four of the Asus Z97-WS motherboards and they are great performers. This also means that it allows Asus to be lazy, not only making it difficult for some to find better drivers, but also not providing them, taking the position that it is better to leave things alone if people aren't complaining.
When I have asked Asus on multiple occasions why there have been no updates in 15 months, the answer is always that there is no need to update anything if there aren't any problems being presented. That is a very poor perspective to project to the tech support staff and to customers.
The focus should always be on improving the existing technology before releasing new technology. I suppose there are financial "drivers" that tend to blur the line between helping customers get the most and best from what they own, and wanting to sell us the latest and greatest.
SO WITH THAT INTRODUCTION: CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHAT ARE THE BEST SET OF DRIVERS TO INSTALL ON A BRAND NEW ASUS Z97-WS? BEGINNING WITH THE CHIPSET SINCE THIS IS A CHIPSET FORUM?
