Matrix Storage Manager- Win 10 update - driver failed to load

$

Hi

I have just updated from windows 7 to 10 ( beginning to wish I had not)

My storage controller is Intel(R) Desktop/Workstation/Server Express Chipset SATA RAID Controller

My Processors are 2 x  Intel(R) Core(TM)2cpu 6300 @ 1.86GHz

My Disk Drives are indicated in Device Manager as Intel Raid 1 Volume

The Raid Volume has operated perfectly well as a Raid level 1 mirror until update

At Boot the Raid indicates status as Verify

When I try to start up the Intel Matrix Storage Manager Consul I get the error message-

'Raid plug-in failed to load because the driver is not installed correctly'

I have tried to update drivers via device manager to be advised driver is up to date

I have tried to update drivers automatically via the Intel Download Centre but this fails to detect any drivers

I have downloaded f6flpy-x86.zip from the Intel Download Centre but am not certain this is appropriate for the Matrix Storage controller

but if it is I do not know how to install it.

Please can some one advise me - how can I resolve?

Thank you

Hello,

Windows crashes(blue screen) pointing to sSATA RSTe storage controller:

A problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down to prevent damage

to your computer.

The problem seems to be caused by the following file: iaStorB.sys

DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen,

restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow

these steps:

Check to make sure any new hardware or software is properly installed.

If this is a new installation, ask your hardware or software manufacturer

for any Windows updates you might need.

If problems continue, disable or remove any newly installed hardware

or software. Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing.

If you need to use safe mode to remove or disable components, restart

your computer, press F8 to select Advanced Startup Options, and then

select Safe Mode.

Motherboard: Supermicro X10DRG-Q (system configured as UEFI, system FW up-to-date)

Chipset: C612

OS: Windows 7pro x64

RSTe driver: 4.3.0.1198

sSATA connected devices:

Intel SSD DC S3610 (FW G2010160)

Intel SSD DC S3520 (FW N2010101)

sSATA and SATA controllers run in RAID mode.

Windows installed on S3610, linux installed on S3520. System is stable - no memory problems(tested that). It seems that problems started after new ssd S3520 was added. Problem shows once/twice a day, possibly when windows is booted right after linux was booted(not 100% sure).

Any ideas ?

Thanks,

Vilius M.

IRST Acceleration : completely useless

$

Yeaj, really uselesss :

Accelerating a 2TB Raid 5 volume on a 64GB SSD cache can't give any performance improvement of course, because you'lll cache all latest read files, but  what you need is to cache system files only,, not the whole raid volume.

And the 2nd drawback is it's impossible to cache any volume on a multi-volume raid battery, wich would be the better solution (i.e. a 64 GB System volume for Windows 10)

So maybe this is not a shame, but it's purely marketing and absolutely uselesss

Intel ICH9 USB Enhanced Controller 2934-2939 Drivers?

$

so recently my laptop USB ports became non working. anything I plugged into my laptop usb ports (all three of them) wouldn't work.

I did some googling and found a supposed fix. someone claimed that if I went into device manager and checked my USB Controllers for errors I could uninstall and then reinstall them. I tried that it didn't work every time I uninstalled the drivers and reinstalled them the second I plug something into the USB ports they would fail again and register an error 43

I did some more looking around and found out the drivers I have are from all the way back in 2003 I downloaded the official Intell driver support software and low and behold. no USB drivers.

does any one know if I can fix this problem or download proper drivers from somewhere?

(also before anyone suggests restore my pc I cant do that all my restore points are after the issue started.)

Issue Description:

Intel SMBus Controller device drivers are overwritten with Intel Chipset Device Software when updated through Microsoft Windows Update, causing loss of functionality for some impacted Intel SMBus Controller devices. This applies to Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1, and Windows Server systems.

Products Affected:

Intel® PCH SMBus Controller with the following hardware device IDs

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1C22

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1D22

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1E22

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_8C22

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_8CA2

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_9C22

Intel® Chipset Device Software version 10.1.1.38

Intel® Server Chipset Driver version 10.1.2.80

Intel® SMBus 2.0 Driver

Customer Impact:

Users impacted by this issue may experience loss of functionality of the listed Intel SMBus Controller devices.

The SMBus is used for system management communications.  If the device driver for the Intel SMBus Controller is not correctly installed, the temperature reporting, as an example,  for the processor, PCH and/or memory modules may not function as expected.

Root Cause:

The existing Intel SMBus Controller device drivers are overwritten with the Intel Chipset Device Software, that provides the operating system with information about the device/hardware. This allows the operating system to display the correct product name for that piece of hardware in Device Manager.  The Intel Chipset Device Software does not  install device drivers for the Intel SMBus Controller, resulting in a loss of device functionality.

Recommendations:

  1. Roll back to the previous Intel SMBus Controller device driver
    1. Open Device Manager, click Start > Control Panel > Device Manager
    2. Select View > Devices by Type
    3. Expand System Devices
    4. Double-click SMBus device
    5. Select the Driver tab
    6. Click Roll Back Driver to restore
    7. Reboot the system

  1. The SMBus device driver may need to be re-installed
    1. Intel Desktop or Server Boards:  download and install Intel® Desktop Utilities
      https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/20488.
    2. Or contact your computer manufacturer for the SMBus driver appropriate for your system.

  1. Optional:
Install updated Intel® Chipset Device Software  or Intel® Server Chipset Driver from Windows Update
    1. Open Device Manager, click Start > Control Panel > Device Manage
    2. Select View > Devices by Type
    3. Expand System Devices
    4. Double-click the Intel chipset device from the list
    5. Select the Driver tab
    6. Click Update Driver

  1. Optional:   Install updated Intel® Chipset
Device Software  or Intel® Server Chipset Driver from Intel Download Center
    1. On Intel Download Center https://downloadcenter.intel.com/  search for Intel® Chipset Device Software (INF Update Utility) or Intel® Server Chipset Driver

Slow performance RAID0 with SSD Cache

I am running a Z97 board.  Latest Intel RST drivers downloaded from Intel's website.

RAID0 is made of 3x 300GB 7200rpm mechanical drive

Cache is a 64GB Sandisk SSD

I am getting really bad performance with this setup.  looking at the Task Manager (Windows 10) the RAID0 volume is is getting 50% usage with Write about 30MB/sec.  About 30-45mins it will settle down, but the performance is still really bad.  read performance is never passes 80MB/sec and mostly around 45-60MB/sec.

Does Intel Rapid Storage Technology service help performance on a laptop with just a single HDD?

$

I have a Dell laptop that came with intel RST pre-installed. I know almost nothing about the product. I recently noticed that RST service was not running, and I was getting error messages regarding the product. I am trying to decide whether I should try to fix the problem, or if it makes more sense to just uninstall the application. From what I have read, it seems RST enhances performance by caching frequently used content from my HDD. I do not have an SDD, and have only a single HDD. I have read that RST can also provide backup in case of disk failure. Where does RST store the cached data? Does Rapid Storage Technology service help performance on a system such as mine?

Thanks.

Currently, we are focusing on the calculation of Big Data distribution. Considering the adventage of FPGA card, the efficiency of parrallel compution and energy conservation, we are targeting at applying FPGA card in spark under the cluster computiong. However, opencl is temporarily short for the JAVA interface, or the function supporting JAVA or Scala, which results in the failure of data trasmission betwee the host and the device, and the failure of invoking the FPGA. We are looking forward to having your technological supports, developing FPGA’s strong computing capability. Thanks.

It seems Windows 10 decided to destroy my opengl drivers

$

I updated to Windows 10 from Win 7 on a dell inspiron laptop running core duo processor and series 4 chipset, many many months ago. After the update I have enjoyed playing several opengl games ie return to castle wolfenstein, until a month ago (about). I have not tried to play since that time, until I tried to run the game tonight, at which time it crashed and told me that opengl could not start.

I have scoured the internet looking for a solution to no avail. The supposed solutions I found did not work or were not for my chipset.

Because windows compatibility said I could update with no problem I did. I found most of the new bells and whistles sort of useful until some of my graphics games and programs like Blender recently quit working. Going back to 7 is not an option!! Does anyone have any Ideas on how to solve this, or am I stuck??

I am not and IT genius so any help I get needs to be in layman's terms.

Thank You in advance
